The Academy of Business & Engineering Sciences (ABES), Ghaziabad at the Hapur Bypass, affiliated to UP Technical University, Lucknow and approved by the AICTE, has been established to cater to the demands for quality technical education, in and around Delhi and Ghaziabad. The institution is offering several programmes including — Master's in Computer Application (MCA), and B Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation, and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Industrialist and chairperson, ABES, Ved Prakash Goel started the institution with a feeling that producing engineers and information technologists will be a substantial project both for him and the society. The director, ABES, H O Gupta, said: ''With the rising levels of awareness, even the rich farmers desire their wards to have access to higher education.'' The 25-acre, well-designed campus has hostel facilities for outstation students, as well. The institute aspires to introduce varied programmes. A student with 50 per cent marks in 10+2 from any board or university can seek admission. The institute follows a dual fee structure. For those B Tech students who are selected on the basis of the entrance examination conducted by UP Govt, the tuition fees is Rs 19,000, for the other 50 per cent-paid seats, tuition fees is Rs 63,000 plus caution money of Rs 5,000 every year. Gupta remarked, ''At ABES, we will organise group discussions and mock interviews to equip our students to face interviews for job placements. We plan to arrange pre-placement talks between prospective employers and students.''
